It is the largest real-name and physician-only network. New members are verified via a 3-step credential check to maintain patient and provider privacy. After claiming their profile, physicians can locate specialists, send HIPAA compliant text messages, exchange private contact information, send faxes directly from their smartphones, and even connect with former classmates and residents. My doctor told me that he was able to find a profile of Jonathan Appelbaum MD through Doximity and referred it to another patient just recently.
