Savings account

One of my relatives wants to open a savings account but does not have much knowledge regarding how to go about it. He has already tried asking some other people he knows, but they were extremely busy. That is precisely why he called me up today to asked me the details about having a savings account, its benefits, and how exactly to start the process. Actually, he lives in a very small town and, so far, had just been storing cash at home or investing it in gold. He was not able to save much because he was always concerned that the cash would get lost at home. I think he is one of the very few people who do not have a savings account, but this is primarily because he has not had much education and is pretty much illiterate. Well, I told him not to worry, because everyone is entitled to having a savings account, and it does not depend upon their literacy level. I told him that his other literate family members, such as his son or daughter, can help him maintain his savings account. That made him feel much more confident about the process, and he has decided to go ahead with it.
